I came to astrology through the ancient world, though I didn't know it at the time.

I studied art history in college with an emphasis on antiquity, and my mentor's focus was the Hellenistic period of ancient greece. I spent years learning to read objects and images as symbolic languages — how civilizations encoded meaning into form, and what those forms could tell us about how people understood time, identity, and the forces shaping their lives.

When I encountered astrology seriously for the first time in late 2020, I didn't expect it to hold my attention the way it did. I had grown up with pop astrology (sun signs, horoscope columns, the usual entry points), and had never suspected the depth underneath. When I saw it being used as a practical timing tool something shifted. I fell down a research rabbit hole that quickly become all-consuming.

What stopped me in my tracks was learning how ancient the practice actually was. Specifically, how much of the Western tradition had been established during the Hellenistic period, The same world I had spent years studying. The synthesis of Babylonian, Egyptian, and Greek thought that produced the symbolic and technical foundations still in use today had happened in exactly the era I knew best. It felt less like a coincidence and more like an inevitability.

within weeks, I enrolled in Chris Brennan's Hellenistic Astrology Course and I haven't looked back. My studies have continued through the scholarship of Demetra George, Chani Nicholas, and many others working in bringing the Hellenistic tradition into the modern world.

My practice is deeply rooted in that ancient foundation. I work with the techniques, house systems, and symbolic frameworks of the Hellenistic tradition because they are, in my view, the most precise and internally consistent tools of Western astrology. But I seek to bring them into the present by reading charts in the context of contemporary life and incorporating ideas from newer traditions where they add depth. I utilize astrology as a sophisticated symbolic language for understanding time, self, and circumstance.
